Wendy Aguiar is a middle school language arts and creative writing teacher with fifteen years of experience in her field. In 2016, she was honored as Teacher of the Year during a very stormy season in her life. "Storm Chasers" is her first book, yet it will resonate with a wide audience for its authenticity and relevance. Wendy’s lifelong dream of publishing a book came to fruition when the COVID-19 pandemic prompted deep reflection. Background Story
Writing has never been optional; like eating and breathing, it’s something integral to being alive. It's therapeutic and necessary. This book came into existence because I recognized a need. I had envisioned writing a book for many years, but there never seemed to be enough time. Is there ever? Then, the 2020 pandemic rocked my reverie and turned the world upside down in the blink of an eye. I realized that we were all living through a storm, yet handling our pain very differently. I kept hearing the mantra, “We are all in the same boat” and yet, that is not entirely true. We have constructed our boats very differently based on our individual fears and experiences. Some people suffer in silence and isolation while others have an enviable crisis support system. And so, "Storm Chasers" was born of adversity but lives by God's providence. Be blessed!
